Solid chestnut wood pergola with waterproof cañizo roofing

In this project, we built a custom pergola in solid chestnut wood, a noble and resistant species, ideal for outdoor use thanks to its high natural durability against moisture and insects. Its warm grain and aged honey colour give it a unique character, blending harmoniously with the surroundings.

The structure rests on adjustable galvanised bases, which are discreet but functional, helping to keep the wood isolated from the ground.

The roof combines Spanish cañizo, which provides shade and an authentic Mediterranean-inspired finish, with a central section waterproofed by translucent polyester panels, which allow natural light to enter without letting water through.

A cosy, natural and functional space, designed to enjoy the outdoors all year round.
